The Players’ Theatre Club staged its first music hall show in December 1937. To commemorate these 80 years, we intend to reprise a few of the items from this first show - in particular a dramatic song about the murderer ‘Samuel Hall’; a sad one ‘The City Waif’; and the lovely song “All Around My Hat I Will Wear the Green Willow”.
The well-known Peter John will lament the fate of a fairy over 40; young newcomer Amy Day will take her ‘Morning Promenade’ and grind her way through "Ta-ra-ra boom-de-ay". We have a new magician and Mark Walsh will be strumming his ukulele.Supper will be the RAF Club chef’s own (also traditional) Steak and Kidney pudding (a vegetable alternative is available) followed by Sherry Trifle.Members of the Marylebone Association are offered a discount price of £65: places may be reserved through the Players’ website www.playerstheatre.co.uk put in the code MASS to secure the discount.
