Social Activities

We organise a wide range of social events throughout the year, with both residential and business members welcome to attend THE BOOK CLUB, meets in a local pub every month, to review and discuss books chosen by members. THE SCRABBLE CLUB also meets twice a month in a local pub, boards and dictionaries are provided!  It is open to members of all levels of ability and experience.

There is a PUB EVENING every month, which alternates between two local Pubs. The COFFEE MORNING, takes place once every two months, in a variety of local establishments with coffee and pastries provided.

In addition, there is a wide range of ONE-OFF EVENTS, which have proved very popular.

These include an ANNUAL DRINKS PARTY held in January. For the last few years, the venue has been The Oriental Club in Stratford place. The event is frequently overbooked!

A popular part of the social calendar are the DINNERS, organised in local restaurants, providing a wide range of venues and differing cuisines, and frequently at discounted prices.

We also have a SUMMER WINE TASTING LUNCHEON in August each year, and a CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON TEA in December, held at the Wallace Collection.

Finally, the is a range of VISITS and TOURS to local places of interest, usually with our own guides, and TALKS and GUIDED WALKS throughout the year.

The Association aims to offer something for everyone in this area, in which we are fortunate to live and work.
