Seymour Leisure Centre Pool Refurbishment Consultation

  • Tue, June 05, 2018

  • Seymour Leisure Centre, W1

Westminster City Council and Everyone Active are currently looking at proposals to refurbish the 1920's swimming pool at Seymour Leisure Centre and they welcome any comments regarding these proposals. They are proposing to reconfigure the pool as a deck level pool with an in-situ step entrance into the pool situated at the shallow end. The new pool configuration will make it much easier for those with mobility problems, parents and babies and young children having swim lessons to enter and leave the pool without having to use the unsatisfactory current ladder arrangements. The proposed pool depth will be 1 metre at the shallow end gradually sloping to 1.5 metres at the deep end. In order to facilitate the deck level pool configuration, the pool will be shorter in length. It will be 25 metres instead of the current 30 metres and narrower in width being 8.25m instead of 8.8m.  Please note that planning and listed building consents have not yet been applied for as they want as many swimmers and members of the local community to have an input on the proposals before they seek the required consents. Any refurbishment project will take 5 to 6 months complete.

For more details please see the displayed plans at the Seymour Centre.  A questionnaire can be picked up from the reception and submitted as a hard copy or via email to violapawelczyk@everyoneactive.com
