'Nipper Pat Daly'

Nipper-Pat-Daly-promo-card-from-1928---aged-15

A new book on life and sporting career of Pat Daly, a once-famous professional boxer and Marylebone resident of the 1920s and early ’30s has just been been published.

Written by his grandson, Alex Daly, 'Nipper Pat Daly' was known as a boxing ‘Wonderboy’ on account of his youth and prodigious talent. He was boxing professionally at age 10, beating grown men in 15-round fights at age 14 and 15, ranked in the world’s top 10 when he was 16, but sadly ‘burnt out’ and retired at age 17.

He lived in Hatton Street, which still exists today and is just behind the Edgware Road, and he trained at the famous 241 Marylebone Road gym of 'Professor' Andrew Newton, who also managed him.

The book is available in hardback and Kindle format. Click here to order.
