Business Liaison Report 2014

It is hard to believe that nearly 3 years have gone by since we first started our membership drive to bring more local businesses into the Marylebone Association. At the same time, September 2011, we held our first business members' networking evening and these have gone from strength to strength. The eighth event will be on 23rd June this year. Our evenings are attracting up to 80 people from an interesting cross-section of our business membership. Their common interest is, of course, Marylebone and a wish to see our area thrive.

Since publishing our 2013 Annual Report we have met at the British Dental Association and Chandos House (courtesy of the Royal Society of Medicine). The next will be at the Oriental Club. Member organisations put on these evenings out of sheer generosity and their interest in the Marylebone community. Our sincere thanks to all of them for the warmth of their welcome and hospitality.

Since mid-2011 we have seen business membership rise significantly to over 140. Help is always appreciated and if you are a resident and know of any local businesses who might like more information on the Association please let us know.

We appreciate hearing from our business members and will happily consider any ideas you would like to put forward. Needless to say, we are always happy to discuss offers of hospitality for our networking evenings. Do get in touch if you would like to help.

It is good to see our business members making more use of our monthly newsletters and our website to inform the Association's residential members about their offers and promotions. Very soon we will have a fully searchable Business Directory on the website where business members can input their own information.

Please remember to support our local businesses, large and small. This will help to ensure the future of our unique area that is Marylebone and benefit everyone who lives and works here.

Patricia Neville
