Wigmore Street - Has Oxford Street pedestrianisation scheme has begun unannounced?

Members have asked whether the current work on Wigmore Street means that the Oxford Street pedestrianisation scheme has begun unannounced!

Publicity around the second consultation said:- "Following pressure from Westminster City Council, TfL has agreed to carry out a number of long awaited safety improvements in the area. These include pedestrian crossings and pavement enhancements along Wigmore Street. These are to be progressed regardless of the outcome of this consultation and whether the main Oxford Street transformation goes ahead or not as they are not interdependent."

The results of the second consultation were promised by mid-March at the latest. Not long to go!
