The Regent Street Cinema are delighted to announce their weekly Wednesday matinee screenings of classic MGM musicals. All the films will be screened on glorious 35mm prints and you will be greeted by the sounds of the cinema's original Compton organ as you enter the newly restored venue. We will also be providing refreshments in the form of tea and biscuits after the film.
Those of you inspired by Grace Kelly's or Fred's moves are invited to join them afterwards for free dance classes in the University of Westminster's adjoining Fyvie Hall. This is on a strictly first come first served basis.
The Regent Street Cinema is Britain's oldest cinema - when the Lumiere Brothers screened the first ever film on British soil in 1896, they charged a sum of 1 shilling. In the spirit of our history, we inviting the first 54 people for each screening to attend for a mere 1 pence.
The price of tickets for persons age 55+ is at £1.75. In keeping with the Cinema's attitude of inclusivity, anyone old or young is welcome to attend. For everyone under 55, the cost of admission is as per the regular rates.
