Hyde Park Major Events Schedule 2017

This year Hyde Park will once again host: Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, BBC Proms in the Park and Radio 2 Live, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon as well as some other smaller events. Beehive Pub in Marylebone Re-opens

Beehive Pub in Marylebone Re-opens

The Victorian “Beehive” pub on Crawford Street which was badly damaged in a July 2015 flat fire has re-opened.  Cuisine Collect, which runs the pub had previously spent a year and a half refurbishing the Grade II Listed pub in 2009. Built in 1884, the pub has now been painstakingly repaired again by builders as part of its protected English Heritage status. Marylebone Forum - Report from the Annual General Meeting

phil wilsonThe Marylebone Forum AGM was held at the Marylebone Parish Church on the 26th January 2017 and commenced at 7.10 pm with an attendance of approximately 80 people. Proceedings were opened by Kevin Coyne as Forum Chairman. The Chairman welcomed everyone and gave a brief outline of progress to date and the items on the evening's agenda.  He also welcomed Rachael Ferry-Jones, Principal Policy officer at Westminster Council with responsibility for Neighbourhood Planning, and thanked her for attending. Ward Councillor for Bryanston and Dorset Square, Julia Alexander was also in attendance, and apologies were received from Councillor Jonathan Glanz, West End Ward. Thanks were given to Steven Evans Rector of Marylebone Parish Church for the use of the Church and supply of refreshments.

Groundbreaking Inclusive Dance Company Seeks Accessible Space

My dance partner and I are planning to offer groundbreaking ballroom and latin wheelchair dance opportunities which bring disabled and non-disabled dancers together to learn, perform and compete. There are no such opportunities in London yet the demand is high. Wheelchair dance is an International Paralympic Sport (IPC) and global talent is impressive but in the UK we have only one couple competing internationally. As well as the competitive side, wheelchair dance is a beautiful, technical, creative art form. It benefits health and well-being, builds confidence and communication and bring people together
