Baker Street Two-way Scheme - Next Steps

Baker Street Two-way Scheme - Next Steps
Westminster City Council has given approval for the Baker Street Two-way Scheme to go to detailed design. There will be a further public consultation on parking and loading proposals which are being drawn up. Following the second consultation on the scheme there is also a plan to move the proposed cycle lanes from Gloucester Place, north of Marylebone Road, to Melcombe Street, Glentworth Street and Balcombe Street. Further details can be found in the letter below and the links within.

I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the second round of public consultation earlier this year for the Baker Street and Gloucester Place Two Way project, through which we sought views on the proposed changes to the initial designs that were consulted on in 2015.

We are hugely grateful to those that have taken part in this second public consultation, with over 500 responses received on a range of topics including perceived traffic congestion, impact on residential streets, air quality and the proposed cycling facilities. The results of this second public consultation are presented in full in our response report.

Seymour Centre New Premise License Application – Have your say

Seymour Centre New Premise License Application – Have your say

Neighbouring residents around the Seymour Leisure Centre are very concerned by a recent 'New Premises' licensing application which if granted could see the Leisure Centre used to host events any night of the week.  Not only would this result in a loss of community sports facilities but would also result in considerable late night noise and disturbance. The new operator Everyone Active which won the contract from the Council to operate the facility earlier this year has applied for a license to hold events for up-to 1,300 people.  Events appear to already have been booked. The “Ring of Honor” Wrestling event is being advertised for on Sunday 20th November and “Big Fight” Boxing on Saturday 10th October.  Further marketing of venue is already underway on their website http://everyoneevents.com/ee-venues/seymour-leisure-centre/

Marylebone Pub Watch - Better News
